Some people buy a still. Others build one. The 50 Gallon EZ Kit is for builders, the kind of people who want to know every seam on their rig because they put it there.
We handle the part that needs a full shop. Your copper arrives pre-cut, rolled, and embossed. You handle the part that makes it yours: clamp the pieces together, lay down your solder, and finish the build on your own bench. Doing that work yourself is how the kit saves you money compared to a fully finished still.
A Big Pot for Serious Experiments
At 50 gallons, this is a working-size still for people who already know they love the process and want room to run it. Alchemists worked with copper, heat, and vapor. A still turns those same tools into a science you control. You watch your temperatures, read the run, and decide where your cuts fall. When you've built the still yourself, you know your lab from the inside out.
Why Go the Kit Route
- You save money by doing the shop labor yourself
- The hardest shaping steps are already done: cutting, rolling, and embossing
- You learn your still seam by seam, so maintenance and repairs feel familiar
- You get to say “I built that” and mean it
Need solder? We carry a 1 lb. roll of silver solder made for copper work. If you have questions before you order, call the family shop at 603-997-6786.
Know the Law
Owning a still is legal in the United States. People use stills to distill water, essential oils, and fuel alcohol (fuel alcohol needs a permit). Distilling alcohol requires federal (TTB) permits, and you must follow federal, state, and local law.
